How to PDF

On this page you will find links to Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) files that require an Adobe Acrobat Reader to open.

Because of their integrity and ability to be used cross platform, PDF files are used extensively in prepress operations both for proofing and for print production. A properly constructed PDF file can resolve or identifiy such issues as fonts not being transferred, corrupted image files and a host of postscripting problems before the files are sent to the printer.

To be able to create PDF files for prepress the Adobe Acrobat suite of products including Acrobat Distiller is required. The downloadable PDF files on this site include screen dumps of the Acrobat Distiller settings used to create files compatible with BPA prepress operations, as well as screen dumps of settings from popular desktop publishing programmes.

If you do not have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader it can be downloaded free from www.adobe.com

Should you have any queries or concerns relating to creating PDF files for use at BPA please do not hesitate to contact us.
